Rodent control can be difficult due to the high intelligence level of the animal. In this Charleston home, they were especially difficult. This video is part 3 of our “Mouse Hunt” series! You can see the rest of our Mouse Hunt Saga on our YouTube channel by clicking here!

In this video, you can see the professionals from Advanced Termite and Pest Control preparing to do some exclusion work on some open areas. The open space in the eaves of this structure were only able to be seen by a very trained eye. Our technician with over 25 years of experience alone noticed this opening by spotting some discoloration on the exterior. This discoloration is from the oil on the animals fur. This lead his attention to the rodents‘ entrance.

Rodent control via exclusion work is a simple solution to keep pests out of the nooks and crannies. a mouse can fit through a crack or hole one-fourth of an inch or larger. Or, about the width of a pencil. A larger marsh rat like this one can still fit through an opening as small as a quarter. Also, the exclusion work is much more inexpensive than hiring a contractor.

Rodents are an issue year round in Charleston and surrounding areas. However, just like other places, when it gets cold the rodents want to seek warmth indoors too.
