Termite Control
Q: What are the signs of a termite infestation?
A: Signs of termite infestation include mud tubes, wood damage, discarded wings, and termite droppings (frass). They are sneaky, so it’s also possible to not notice until after lots of damage has been done. Call us for a thorough inspection.
Q: What are the most common types of termites in SC?
A: There are three common types of termites in South Carolina. The Formosan subterranean termite, eastern subterranean (or native) termite, and dry wood termites.
Q: How often should I have a termite inspection?
A: A termite inspection should be done at least once a year. It’s included in our termite protection plans.
Q: What types of termite treatments do you offer?
A: In-ground baiting systems like Sentricon and Trelona provide continuous “always active” protection. Inspections, liquid treatments, spot treatments, dust, foam, and above-ground stations are important tools too.
Q: How can I prevent a termite infestation?
A: There are a few things you can do. Ensure you don’t have moisture intrusions, such as a roof leak, clogged gutters, or leaks around windows or doors. Crawl spaces should be dry and free of clutter. Get expert protection from a reputable professional.
Q: Can termites damage my home even with vinyl, Hardie plank, brick, stucco, or aluminum siding?
A: Yes, termites can get behind these types of siding and cause significant damage to the wood-framed structure before you notice thousands of damage.
Q: How quickly can termites cause structural damage?
A: Termites can cause a lot of damage quickly. One colony can eat about 3 pounds of house per day, and structures can have more than one colony.
